Los Angeles Motorcycle Accident Attorney

A USC motorcyclist was critically injured after a hit-and-run accident.

A 21-year-old USC student is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run motorcycle accident.

The accident occurred around 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday evening. According to police reports, the unidentified male victim was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by a burgundy GMC Safari van at the intersection of Lexington and Vermont. After running over the victim, the driver of the van then fled going westbound on Lexington.

The LAPD has released a description of both the van and the driver. According to eyewitness reports, the van's driver is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 35 and 45, weighing between 170 and 190 pounds and approximately 5 feet 5 inches in height. Witnesses were also able to get the van's tag number and authorities are encouraging anyone who has seen a van matching the description with California license plate 4MYH882 to contact police immediately.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he continues to receive treatment for numerous injuries, including fractures to his ribs, arm, leg and wrist. Anyone with further information in the case is urged to call (213) 972-1840.

As the police continue to investigate this latest motorcycle accident, the victim faces a long road to recovery. Depending on the extent of his injuries, he may require long-term hospitalization, extensive surgery, physical therapy and expensive medications. He may also experience a loss in wages and a decrease in his quality of life if his injuries leave him permanently disabled. If the police are able to make an arrest in the case, the victim and his family would then be able to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the driver. Hopefully, they will consult a qualified Southern California motorcycle accident attorney regarding their case.
