The State of Michigan is learning a serious lesson about the relationship between helmets and motorcycle safety. For most of us, it would appear as common sense that motorcycle helmets save lives, but when given a choice, not everybody wears a helmet on the open road, and this is proving to have some dire consequences.

New Research: Motorcycle Helmets Really Do Save Lives
Conventional wisdom regarding motorcycle safety continues to hold true, according to a new report from MLive. The Michigan news agency decided to observe motorcycle injury rates after the state eliminated its motorcycle helmet requirement, and some of the findings are very interesting. As expected, riders with helmets fare much better in crashes, but some other findings are also noteworthy.
