San Francisco Motorcycle Accident Shuts Down Oak Street
Police say the non-fatal motorcycle accident kept the street closed for several hours on Sunday afternoon.
According to police reports, the accident occurred at the intersection of Oak Street and Divisadero at approximately 3:37 p.m. Three people were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two of those injured were riding a motorcycle that was involved in the accident while the third victim was pulled from a car that rolled over following the collision. Law enforcement is still investigating what caused the accident.
The intersection between Broderick and Scott Streets remained closed for several hours following the motorcycle accident and traffic had to be rerouted.
If San Francisco police determine that the driver of the car was responsible for causing the accident, the two injured motorcyclists may be able to file a personal injury claim to recover damages. Hopefully, they will speak with an experienced San Francisco motorcycle accident attorney regarding their case.
While no one was seriously injured in this accident, other California motorcyclists may not be so lucky. A motorcycle accident can result in broken bones, internal injuries or severe head trauma, all of which can significantly alter your quality of life. In some cases, a motorcycle will turn out to be fatal for those involved. While motorcycle accident fatalities declined in California from 2009 to 2010, it has yet to be seen whether the trend will continue for 2011.
If you or someone you love has suffered serious injury as a result of a motorcycle accident, you should speak with an experienced California personal injury attorney right away.
